"Get Traffic with Expired Domain Names"

Expired domain names are domain names that people forgot to renew. There could be many reason for that such as disinterest in the web site, no money to renew it, or something more serious, such as death. Whatever the reason was, the expired domain name is still working as any other domain name. The only difference is that the expired domain name points to a 404 error page since it does not have a website attached to it.

If you are a new webmaster you will see that your greatest difficulty will be to drive traffic to your website. It is because building traffic requires money and time. Why time? Well if you want to drive free traffic to your site you will need to spend time on optimizing your site, doing article marketing, link-building and some other free marketing techniques.

And money? If you want to give your website more exposure, then you will have to spend some money for it. For example, a good marketing technique is pay-per-click and in order to drive quality traffic to your site, you will need to spend money. This is where expired domain names come to action.

Instead of spending your time and money building up traffic, you can purchase an expired domain that comes with a good amount of traffic. The prices of the expired domain names range from less than $100.00 to over $1 million. Some of these domains may come with a website.

How do you know if expired domain names are worth buying?

In order to know if an expired domain name is worth buying, first you need to check the Google page rank for it. To do this, go to google's toolbar and download it to your PC. Then type in the expired domain name there and see what the rank is. The rank varies from 0 to 10. The greater the page rank is the better. If it has no page rank, it is better to forget about the domain name. When the number is between 6 and 10, you should strongly consider buying the expired domain name.

Next, you need to find the Alexa rating of the expired domain names. To do this, go to www.alexa.com and type in the expired domain name in the search box. After you enter the domain it will give you a traffic rating. The lower the rating the better. The Alexa rating determines how much traffic a website receives. You should consider buying an expired domain name with a rating under 100,000.

You final step is to check how many websites are linking to the expired domain name. To do this, go to www.google.com and in the box type "link:expireddomainname.com". If you see that it has a lot of links it is a sign taht the traffic coming to the expired domain originated from legitimate sources.

In conclusion, if you are a new webmaster and you want to avoid all the hard work to drive traffic to your site, then you should consider buying expired domain names. But if you don't have the budget to buy an expired domain name, then you should concentrate on driving quality traffic to your site.
